Operation CHARM: Car repair manuals for everyone.
Manuals through 2025 now available!

Our trusted friends have launched a new website named LEMON, which has newer manuals. It also contains all the CHARM manuals.

LEMON is the spiritual successor to CHARM, I recommend you try it!

Removal

1. Remove clutch plate and hub assembly as outlined.
2. Remove rotor and bearing snap ring, then mount puller guide J-33023 or equivalent over compressor shaft.
3. Install puller J-33020 onto rotor, turning puller body clockwise to engage tangs on puller with inner circle of slots in rotor.
4. Hold body of puller and tighten screw to remove rotor and bearing assembly.
5. Remove screw from puller leaving body engaged in rotor, invert assembly and place on suitable work surface, using body of puller to support rotor during bearing removal.
6. Drive bearing from rotor using suitable drivers. It is not necessary to remove staking in front of rotor bearing prior to bearing removal. However, it is necessary to file away staking after bearing has been removed to provide clearance for installation of replacement bearing.
