With Air Conditioning

Fig. 29 Blower Motor, Heater Core & Evaporator Core. With A/C:

1. On models equipped with airbags, disable airbag system as described under BODY ELECTRICAL SAFETY AND ENTERTAINMENT/PASSIVE RESTRAINTS, AIR BAG/MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG SYSTEM DISARMING.
2. On all models, disconnect battery ground cable and drain cooling system.
3. Disconnect heater hoses at heater core. Cap core outlets to prevent coolant spillage.
4. Pull hood seal from A/C module flange and area above air screen.
5. Remove air inlet screen attaching screws and air inlet screen.
6. Remove righthand windshield wiper arm.
7. Detach A/C module ground strap from dash panel.
8. Disconnect electrical connectors from A/C module upper case components.
9. Remove upper A/C module attaching screws, then remove A/C module upper case, Fig. 29.
10. Remove heater core tube seal, then remove heater core retaining clamp and lift heater core from case.
11. Reverse procedure to install.
12. Rearm airbag system as described under BODY ELECTRICAL SAFETY AND ENTERTAINMENT/PASSIVE RESTRAINTS, AIR BAG/MAINTENANCE PROCEDURES/AIRBAG SYSTEM DISARMING.
