Shift Control Lever Replacement

Remove or Disconnect

1. Transfer case shift lever boot, if used.
2. Screws (1) and retainer (2).
3. Screws (5).
4. Boot (4).
5. Insulator (6).
6. Control lever (3).

Install or Connect

1. Control lever (3).
2. Insulator (6).
3. Boot (4).

Notice: When fasteners are removed, always reinstall them at the same location from which they were removed. If a fastener needs to be replaced, use the correct part number fastener for that application. If the correct part number fastener is not available, a fastener of equal size and strength (or stronger) may be used. Fastener that are not reused, and those requiring thread locking compound will be called out. The correct torque value muse be used when installing fasteners that require it. If the above conditions are not followed, parts, or system damage could result.

4. Screws (5).
5. Retainer (2) and screws (1).

Tighten
- Screws (1 and 5) to 1.9 Nm (17 in lb).

6. Transfer case shift lever boot, if used.
