Coil Spring Replace


1. Raise and support vehicle. Allow control arms to hang.
2. Remove wheel and tire assembly.
3. Remove shock absorber.
4. Cradle lower control arm using coil spring remover and installer tool No. J-23028-01 or equivalent, secured to the end of a jack.
5. Remove stabilizer shaft from lower control arm. Raise jack to remove tension from lower control arm pivot bolts. Secure spring with a chain placed through spring and control arm.
6. Remove pivot bolts and nuts.
7. Remove coil spring and insulator.
8. Reverse procedure to install. Install coil spring with tape at the lowest position and facing front of vehicle with gripper notch at the top. Ensure drain holes, one of which must be covered by the end of the spring and one must be open, are properly positioned. Tighten attaching nuts to 96 ft. lbs.
