MANUAL TEMPERATURE CONTROL LEVER SLIPS FROM HOT TO COLD
(INSTALL E RING)
MODELS:
1988-94 CHEVROLET AND GMC TRUCK C/K TRUCKS
1990-94 CHEVROLET AND GMC TRUCK TOPKICK/KODIAK AND P6, B7 CHASSIS MODELS WITHOUT AIR CONDITIONING (C60)
CONDITION:
Some owners may comment that the temperature control lever slips from hot to cold, usually when blower motor is on high speed.
CAUSE:
Too much vertical movement at the lever arm pivot shaft (Figure 1).
CORRECTION:
Shim clearance at the pivot shaft by installing an "E" Ring clip between the metal and silicone washers already present on the shaft (Figure 2).
