The Delco-Moraine Single Piston Caliper is held in place by two mounting bolts. The caliper assembly, Fig. 1, slides on its mounting surfaces. Upon brake application, hydraulic pressure against the piston forces the inboard pad against the inboard side of the disc. This action causes the caliper assembly to slide until the outboard pad comes into contact with the disc, which in turn creates a slowing or stopping action.
