Heavy Duty Front Axle

FRONT DRIVE AXLE

1. Raise and support vehicle, then remove wheels.
2. Remove steering knuckle as outlined under STEERING KNUCKLE & SPINDLE.
3. Remove stabilizer link, then the shock absorber from its lower mounting.
4. Place suitable jack under axle, then remove U-bolts.
5. Separate left spring from axle, then remove steering damper from axle.
6. Lower jack and pull axle clear of vehicle.
7. Reverse procedure to install, torquing bolts/nuts to specifications.
