Inspection

1. Check all gear teeth for excessive wear.

2. Check bearings for nicks, burrs, bent cages or other signs of wear.

3. Lubricate bearings and check for rough rotation.

4. Check gears for cracks, nicks/chips or high spots (small shiny spot on gear teeth mating surface) that could cause gear noise.
