Fillpipe Restrictor: Description and Operation

Catalytic converter equipped vehicles must use unleaded gasoline only. Use of leaded gas will cause contamination of the catalyst. Filling station pump nozzles for leaded gasoline pumps are larger in diameter than unleaded pump nozzles. A restrictor is built into the fuel filler inlet pipe to prevent the use of unleaded fuel pump nozzles.
