EGR Control Solenoid: Description and Operation

PURPOSE
To regulate EGR flow by electrically controlling the vacuum source to the EGR valve.

OPERATION
The normally closed solenoid vacuum valve is opened when the PCM completes the ground.
The PCM uses information from the following inputs to regulate the solenoid:
- Engine coolant temperature - above 25°
- Throttle position - "OFF" idle.
- MAP
