Circuit Operation Pg. 8A-131-9
When a Front Door Locks Switch is activated in the "LOCK" or "UNLOCK" position, all of the doors lock or unlock in unison. Each lock can also be operated manually from the locking knob. The Automatic Door Locks are operated by reversible motors that receive voltage and ground from the Automatic Door Lock Relay. The Automatic Door locks feature is controlled by the Multi-function Alarm Module. If the Automatic Door Locks are activated with a door open. the doors will not lock until closed.DOORS LOCK
AUTOMATIC TRANSMISSION
With the Ignition Switch in "RUN" and the gear selector moved from the "PARK" or "NEUTRAL" position, the Multi-function Alarm Module will no longer receive a ground signal through CKT 1786 With the ground signal removed. power is supplied to the Door Lock Relay through CKT 195 to lock the doors. If the vehicle reaches 8 mph without the ground signal being removed from CKT 1786. the Multi-function Alarm Module will supply power to CKT 195.
MANUAL TRANSMISSION
The Multi-function Alarm Module reads vehicle speed through CKT 817. With the Ignition Switch in "RUN" and the vehicle exceeding 8 mph. the Multi- function Alarm Module provides power to the Door Lock Relay through CKT 195 to lock the doors.
DOORS UNLOCK
The Door Unlock Module unlocks all doors when it receives "ignition off" input through CKT 39 (Fuse 9). When "ignition off' signal is received, the Door Unlock Module supplies battery voltage through CKT 1606, Fuse 17, and CKT 194 to the Door Lock Relay which in turn unlocks the doors. Fuse 17 has been designed as a disable feature for the Automatic Door Unlock Module. If Fuse 17 is removed, the Automatic Unlock feature will not operate.
DOOR RELOCK
When an individual door lock is unlocked with the vehicle running, the lock will again be activated automatically when the door has been closed and the vehicle is moved out of "PARK" or "NEUTRAL" position. If a door is opened on a vehicle when the automatic transaxle is in gear. the door will automatically lock when the door is closed. With a manual transaxle. the door will relock once the vehicle has reached a speed of 8 MPH or greater.
