No 2-3 Shift or 2-3 Shift Delay

1. Governor or speed sensor:

a. Cover worn.

b. Thrust washer missing.

c. Governor seal worn or cut.

d. Governor weights binding on pin.

e. Governor spring not seated.

f. Ball missing.

g. Governor driven gear stripped.

2. Intermediate servo:

a. Piston to case oil seal damaged.

b. Servo piston damaged.

c. Servo bore damaged.

d. Servo orifice bleed cup plug missing in case.

3. Accumulator exhaust check valve is not seating in case.

4. Case:

a. Direct clutch accumulator cup plug (third oil) leaking or missing.

b. Case to governor shaft sleeve missing or damaged.

c. Center gasket leaking.

5. Case cover:

a. Case cover bolts loose.

b. Drive sprocket support passages interconnected, leaking or restricted.

c. Drive sprocket support oil seal rings damaged or missing.

d. Sleeve loose or out of position.

6. Throttle lever and bracket assembly binding.

7. TV link incorrect, disconnected or binding.

8. Control valve assembly:

a. 2-3 shift valve, 2-3 TV valve sticking.

b. Shift TV valve sticking.

c. Governor feed to 2-3 shift valve restricted.

d. Direct clutch feed orifice restricted.

e. No. 5 check ball missing or mislocated.

9. Spacer place or gaskets leaking, damaged or incorrectly installed.

10. Case to governor shaft sleeve damaged or missing.

11. Direct clutch:

a. Check ball leaking.

b. Check ball capsule damaged.

c. Seals damaged or missing.

d. Cracked or damaged housing or piston.

e. Backing plate snap ring out of groove.

f. Clutch plates damaged or missing.
