Crankshaft Position Sensor: Testing and Inspection
A scan tool displays engine speed in RPM. RPM will still be displayed with a fault in this circuit. If the signal is lost while the engine is running, the fuel injection system will shift to a time base fuel injection mode based on pump cam signal, and the engine will continue to run. The engine can be restarted and will run in the backup fuel mode as long as fault is present. See Diagnostic Trouble Code
