9K-1 Remote Keyless Entry System Inoperative

CIRCUIT DESCRIPTION
Battery voltage is applied to the Remote Control Door Lock Receiver (RCDLR) at all times through Instrument Panel (I/P) fuse 29. The RCDLR is grounded at all times.

CHART TEST DESCRIPTION
Number(s) below refer to circled number(s) on the diagnostic chart.
1. Isolate a power door lock system fault or a RKE system fault.
2. Check for battery voltage at the RCDLR connector.
3. Check for ground at the RCDLR connector.

DIAGNOSTIC AIDS
Program a known good transmitter (see procedure), and test the RKE system. If the RKE system operates normally, the original transmitter was defective. If the RKE system is still inoperative, replace the RCDLR. If a known good transmitter will not program, refer to 9K-8. 9K-8 Remote Control Door Lock Receiver/Trans Will Not Program
