General Information

The EBCM contains sophisticated on-board diagnostics. When a Scan Tool accesses the EBCM on-board diagnostics, the EBCM on-board diagnostics identify the source of any system malfunction as specifically as possible. The EBCM on-board diagnostics also diagnose whether the malfunction is intermittent. There are 53 diagnostic trouble codes (DTC) that assist with diagnostics.

The following actions occur when using the Scan Tool with ABS/ETS:
^ The Scan Tool specifically identifies the last DTC.
^ The specific ABS or ETS data stores at the time of the malfunction.
^ Information about the first five DTCs set and the last DTC set becomes available.
^ The input and output can be monitored.
^ Malfunction confirmation and repair verification are enabled.
^ The manual control of components and the automated functional tests become available.
