Alternate Frequencies (AF)
The Alternate Frequency (AF) feature allows the radio to automatically switch to another transmitter or frequency when the frequency signal strength drops below a preset level. The new transmitter or frequency is broadcasting the same program materials as the original frequency. The AF feature is user selectable. You can turn the AF feature ON and OFF. When you press the AF button, the button turns on the AF feature. If the radio is not tuned to a Radio Data System (RDS) station, the press of the AF button causes the radio to seek a RDS station. The radio will accept any RDS station regardless of the number of AFs broadcast on the station. If the AF is already ON, pressing the AF button turns the AF feature. An AF icon in the radio display indicates if the AF is ON or OFF.
