Heater Core Case: Service and Repair

Remove or Disconnect

1. I/P.
2. Drain the engine cooling system.

Right-Side Instrument Panel Center Support:





3. Two bolts and right-side I/P center support.
4. Evaporator (if equipped with A/C).
5. SDM bracket.
6. Antenna cable (if equipped with radio) and speedometer cable from heater case.
7. Floor duct from case.
8. A/C amplifier electrical jumper harness (if equipped with A/C).
9. Two screws and set aside relay bracket.





10. Two heater case nuts from the engine compartment-side of the bulkhead, and two heater case bolts.
11. Heater case from vehicle.

Disassemble
1. Heater case retaining clips.

Heater Case (Sectional View):





2. Separate heater case halves.
3. Doors and linkages.

Assemble
1. Doors and linkages.
2. Position heater case halves together.
3. Retaining clips to heater case.

Install or Connect

1. Heater case to vehicle; secure with two bolts and two nuts.

Tighten
^ Heater case bolts and nuts to 10 N.m (89 lb. in.).

2. A/C amplifier electrical jumper harness (if equipped with A/C).
3. Floor duct to heater case.
4. Antenna cable (if equipped with radio) and speedometer cable to retaining bracket.
5. Relay bracket; secure with two screws.
6. SDM bracket.
7. Evaporator (if equipped with A/C).
8. Right-side instrument panel center support; secure with two bolts.
9. Heater hoses and clamps to heater core.
10. Refill engine cooling system.
11. I/P.
