Heater/Vent Module Replacement





REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.

1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Drain the cooling system.
3. Disconnect the heater hoses at the heater core.
4. Remove the module bolts.
5. Remove the instrument panel.
6. Remove the instrument panel tie bar.
7. Remove the floor air outlet.
8. Disconnect the wiring harness from the module.
9. Disconnect the electrical connections at the following locations:
^ The blower motor
^ The blower resistor
10. Remove the module (1) from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

1. Install the module (1) in the vehicle.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 3 N.m (27 lb in).

2. Connect the electrical connections at the following locations:
^ The blower motor
^ The blower resistor
3. Connect the wiring harness to the module.
4. Install the floor air outlet.
5. Install the instrument panel tie bar.
6. Install the instrument panel
7. Install the module bolts. First, connect the upper bolts, then connect the lower bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the bolts to 3 N.m (27 lb in).

8. Connect the heater hoses at the heater core.
9. Fill the cooling system.
10. Connect the negative battery cable.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 16 N.m (12 lb ft).
