Detent Spring Clean and Inspect

Inspect the detent springs for damage or wear. Replace the springs if damage or wear exists. Measure the spring length.
^ Replace the reverse detent spring if the overall length is less than 65.6 mm (2.583 inch).
^ Replace the detent springs (excluding reverse) if the overall length is less than 26.2 mm (1.031 inch).
