Power Steering Line/Hose: Service and Repair
REMOVAL PROCEDURE1. Place a drain pan under the vehicle.
2. Disconnect the power steering cooler hose from the reservoir and drain the fluid.
3. Remove the power steering gear inlet hose (2) from the power steering pump (1).
4. Remove the power steering gear inlet hose from the power steering gear.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Connect the power steering gear inlet hose (2) to the power steering pump (1).
NOTICE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Connect the power steering gear inlet hose to the power steering gear.
Hold the power steering gear inlet hose against the power steering gear while tightening the hose fitting.
- Tighten the power steering gear inlet hose to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).
3. Connect the power steering cooler hose and clamp to the reservoir.
4. Remove the drain pan. Refill the power steering fluid reservoir and bleed the power steering system. Refer to Bleeding Power Steering System.
