Functional Check - Cruise Control

Use this procedure in order to check the operating modes of the cruise control system. Always use this procedure after you complete repair work of the cruise system.
1. Slide the turn signal lever cruise control switch to the ON position.
2. Verify that the LOW SPEED INHIBIT is functioning normally:
2.1. Drive the vehicle at 32 km/h (20 mph).
2.2. Press and release the SET button.
2.3. The cruise control must not engage.
3. Verify the SET SPEED:
3.1. Drive the vehicle at a steady speed of 89 km/h (55 mph).
3.2. Fully depress the SET button.
3.3. Release the SET button.
3.4. The cruise control must engage at approximately 89 km/h (55 mph).
4. Verify that the BRAKE RELEASE feature is functioning normally:
4.1. Press the brake pedal.
4.2. The cruise control must release the throttle, allowing the vehicle to decelerate. The cruise control must not re-engage when you release the brake.
5. Verify that the RESUME feature is functioning normally:
5.1. Drive the vehicle at approximately 72 km/h (45 mph).
5.2. Slide the cruise switch momentarily (less than 1 second) to the R/A position.
5.3. The vehicle must accelerate to approximately 89 km/h (55 mph).
6. Verify that the COAST feature is functioning normally:
6.1. Press and hold the SET button.
6.2. Allow the vehicle to decelerate to 80 km/h (50 mph).
6.3. Release the SET button.
6.4. The cruise control must engage at approximately 80 km/h (50 mph).
7. Verify that the ACCELERATE feature is functioning normally:
7.1. Slide and hold the cruise switch to the R/A position.
7.2. The vehicle must accelerate.
7.3. Allow the vehicle to accelerate to 89 km/h (55 mph).
7.4. Release the switch.
7.5. The cruise control must engage at approximately 89 km/h (55 mph).
8. Verify that the OFF switch is functioning normally:
8.1. Slide the turn signal lever cruise control switch to the OFF position.
8.2. The cruise control system must disengage.
