Power Steering Pressure Switch: Service and Repair

PSP Switch Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION: Refer to Vehicle Lifting Caution in Cautions and Notices.

1. Raise the vehicle on the hoist. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
2. Disconnect the power steering pressure switch electrical connector (1).
3. Remove the PSP switch (2) from the power steering pump (3).

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

NOTE: Refer to Component Tightening Notice in Cautions and Notices.

1. Install the PSP switch (2) into the power steering pump (3).

Tighten
Tighten the PSP switch to 27 N.m (20 lb ft)

2. Connect the PSP switch electrical connector (1).
3. Lower the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle.
4. Bleed the air from the power steering system. Refer to Bleeding Power Steering System.
