Condenser HVAC: Service and Repair
CONDENSER REPLACEMENTREMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the air cleaner.
2. Recover the refrigerant from the system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging. Service and Repair
3. Remove the grille.
4. Remove the compressor and condenser line from the condenser.
5. Remove the evaporator tube from the condenser.
6. Remove the bolts that retain the condenser to the radiator.
7. Remove the condenser.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Install the condenser.
NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.
2. Install the bolts that retain the condenser to the radiator.
Tighten
Tighten the bolts that retain the condenser to the radiator to 6 N.m (53 lb in).
3. Install the evaporator tube to the condenser.
4. Install the compressor and condenser line to the condenser.
5. Install the grille.
6. Evacuate and charge the system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging. Service and Repair
7. Ensure that no leaks exist in the system. Refer to Leak Testing. Leak Testing
8. Install the air cleaner.
