Crossmember Replacement

Removal Procedure

1. Remove the wires and the cables.
2. Remove any other lines that are connected to the crossmember.
3. Remove the brackets and the valves.
4. Remove any other components that are mounted on the frame and may interfere with the removal procedure.




5. Support the crossmember.
Remove the bolts that are holding the crossmember to the frame rails.
6. Remove the crossmember.

Installation Procedure

1. Position and support the crossmember in the frame rails.
2. Apply a medium strength threadlocker, GM P/N 12345382 or Canadian P/N 10953489 to the threads of the bolts.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.




3. Connect the crossmember to the frame rails with the bolts, the washers, and the nuts.

Tighten the bolts to 100 Nm (74 lb ft).

4. Install the brackets and the valves.
5. Install any other components that were previously removed.
6. Install the wires and the cables.
7. Install any other lines that were previously removed.
