Fluid - M/T: Testing and Inspection

Repair Instructions




1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.
2. Clean any dirt from around the fill plug.
3. Remove the transmission case fill plug.





4. Check that the transmission fluid level is even with the bottom of the fill plug hole.
5. Add Dexron III transmission fluid, if necessary.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

6. Install the transmission case fill plug.
^ Tighten the transmission case fill plug to 27 Nm (20 ft. lbs.).
7. Lower the vehicle.
