Service Port HVAC: Service and Repair

SERVICE PORT VALVE CORE REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the service port valve caps.
2. Recover the refrigerant. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging. Service and Repair
3. Using an R-134a valve core remover/installer, unscrew and remove the valve core from the service port.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Using an R-134a valve core remover/installer, install the new valve core to the service port.
2. Evacuate and charge the refrigerant system. Refer to Refrigerant Recovery and Recharging. Service and Repair
3. Check the service ports for refrigerant leaks. Refer to Leak Testing.Leak Testing
4. Install the service port valve caps.
