Generator Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

CAUTION: Refer to Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.




1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.




2. Disconnect the regulator connector and the battery-to-generator terminal from the back of the generator.




3. Release the accessory drive belt tensioner (3).
4. Remove the accessory drive belt from the generator pulley.




5. Remove the generator mounting bolts.
6. Remove the generator from the bracket.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the generator to the bracket.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the generator mounting bolts.

Tighten
Tighten the generator mounting bolts to 50 N.m (37 lb ft).




3. Install the accessory drive belt (5) to the generator pulley.




4. Connect the regulator connector and the battery to generator terminal to the back of the generator.

Tighten
Tighten the battery to generator terminal nut to 13 N.m (10 lb ft).

5. Connect the negative battery cable.

Tighten
Tighten the negative battery cable bolt to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).

6. Program the Transmitters. Refer to Transmitter Programming/Synchronization in Keyless Entry.
