Coolant Control Valve Replacement - Auxiliary

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Drain the coolant. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System in Cooling System.
2. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
3. Disconnect the front hose connections from the bypass valve.
4. Disconnect the rear hose connections from the bypass valve.
5. Remove the nut from the by-pass valve.
6. Remove the by-pass valve from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the by-pass valve to the vehicle.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install the retaining nut to the water by-pass valve.

Tighten
Tighten the retaining nut to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

3. Connect the rear hose connections to the bypass valve.
4. Connect the front hose connections to the bypass valve.
5. Lower the vehicle.
6. Fill the engine coolant. Refer to Draining and Filling Cooling System in Cooling System.
