Engine Splash Shield Replacement (Right)

Tools Required

J 38778 Door Trim Pad and Garnish Clip Remover

Removal Procedure

1. Raise and suitably support the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
2. Use J 38778 to remove the push-in retainers holding the engine splash shield to the lower flange of the engine compartment side rail.




3. For the Impala, remove the front fender liner. Refer to Front Fender Liner Replacement (Service and Repair).




4. Remove the engine splash shield from the lower flange of the engine compartment side rail.

Installation Procedure




1. Install the engine splash shield to the lower flange of the engine compartment side rail.
2. Align the holes in the engine splash shield to the holes in the outboard side engine compartment side rail.
3. Insert the push-in retainers to the engine splash shield.
4. For the Impala, install the front fender liner. Refer to Front Fender Liner Replacement (Service and Repair).
5. Lower the vehicle.
