Spare Ignition Key Available
TOOLS REQUIREDJ 35628-A VATS/PASS Interrogator Tester
Use the J 35628-A or equivalent in order to determine the proper value or code of the ignition key resistor pellet.
1. Insert the customer's spare ignition key into the key code reader on the J 35628-A.
2. Turn on the J 35628-A.
3. A number from 1 to 15 will appear in the window of the J 35628-A. This number is the resistor pellet code of the ignition key.
4. Cut a new ignition key with the resistor pellet code identified with the J 35628-A.
5. Start the engine using the new ignition key. This will verify that the ignition key is mechanically and electrically correct.
