Defroster Valve Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the instrument panel assembly.
2. Remove the defroster valve vacuum actuator.
3. Remove the air distribution case cover retaining screws.
4. Remove the air distribution case cover.
5. Remove and discard the air distribution case seal.
6. Remove the linkage between the defroster valve and the heater valve on the driver's side of the HVAC module.
7. Remove the defroster valve.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the defroster valve.
2. Connect the linkage between the defroster valve and the heater valve.
3. Install a new air distribution case seal
4. Install the air distribution case cover.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

5. Install the air distributor case cover retaining screws.

Tighten
Tighten the screws to 1.6 N.m (14 lb in).

6. Install the defroster valve vacuum actuator.
7. Install the instrument panel assembly.
