Crankshaft Position (CKP) Sensor Replacement (7X)

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Turn OFF the ignition switch.
2. Raise the vehicle. Refer to Lifting and Jacking the Vehicle in General Information.
3. Disconnect the sensor electrical connector.
4. Remove the attaching bolt/screw.
5. Remove the sensor from the engine.
6. Inspect for wear, cracks, or leakage if the sensor is not being replaced.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Lubricate the O-ring with clean engine oil before installation. Replace the O-ring if the O-ring is damaged.
2. Install the sensor to the block.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

3. Reinstall the sensor attaching Bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 8 N.m (71 lb in).

4. Connect the sensor electrical connector.
5. Lower the vehicle.
