Camshaft Position Sensor: Service and Repair

CAMSHAFT POSITION (CMP) SENSOR REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Disconnect the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor.
2. Remove the screw that retains the Camshaft Position (CMP) sensor.
3. Remove the CMP sensor.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Position the CMP sensor.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Hand-start the retaining screw.

Tighten
Tighten the screw to 5 N.m (44 lb in).

3. Connect the CMP sensor electrical connector.
