Keyless Entry Receiver: Service and Repair

REMOTE CONTROL DOOR LOCK RECEIVER REPLACEMENT

IMPORTANT: To check if the vehicle is equipped with separate remote door lock receiver open the rear compartment lid. The receiver is located between the rear package shelf and the rear package shelf cover, just to the right of the center access hole. If can not locate any mounting tabs next to the center access hole the remote door lock receiver is not serviceable. Refer to Body Control Module Replacement in Body Control Module. If you can locate mounting tabs next to the center access hole, then the receiver is serviceable, and follow the repair procedure below.

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Disconnect the negative battery cable. Refer to Battery Disconnect/Connect Procedure in Starting and Charging.
2. Open the rear compartment lid.
3. Look for the mounting tabs just to the right of the center access hole on the rear package shelf. Compress the tabs and slide the receiver down through the access hole.
4. Disconnect the electrical connector from the remote door lock receiver.
5. Remove the remote door lock receiver.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Connect the electrical connector.
2. Install the receiver through the access hole. Ensure that the mounting tabs are snapped into place.
3. Close the rear compartment lid.
4. Reprogram the new receiver to transmitter(s). Programming and Relearning
