DIAGNOSTIC AIDSThe DIC displays dashes (- -) when there is a fault in the class 2 serial data circuit. This occurs only during the following modes:
^ Average Fuel Economy
^ Average Speed
^ Fuel Used
^ Instant Fuel Economy
^ Trip Range
The compass display and the temperature display still operate normally when there is a fault in the class 2 serial data circuit. In this case refer to Scan Tool Does Not Communicate with Class 2 Device in Data Link Communications for diagnosis. Testing and Inspection
