Ignition Coil: Service and Repair

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Remove the air cleaner outlet duct from the air cleaner and resonator.
2. Remove the ignition control module (ICM) electrical connectors (1) and spark plug wires (2).
3. Remove the ignition coils bolts for the affected coil.
4. Remove the ignition coil.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.




1. install the ignition coil.

Tighten
Tighten the ignition coils bolts (3) to 4 N.m (35 lb in).

2. Reinstall the spark plug wires (2) and ICM electrical connectors (1).
3. Reinstall the air cleaner outlet duct to the air cleaner and resonator.
