Spark Plug Replacement

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Turn the ignition key OFF.
2. Remove the wires from the plugs.
3. Remove foreign material from around the spark plug holes.




4. Remove the spark plug using a spark plug socket.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Adjust the spark plug gap using a round wire type spark plug gap gauge. While gapping the plug, keep the platinum pads aligned to ensure maximum plug life.

Specification
Spark Plug Gap: 2.2L Engine LN2 1.016 mm (0.040 in.)

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Install new plugs and tighten properly.

Tighten
Tighten the plugs to 18 N.m (13 lb ft).




3. Reapply dielectric lubricant to the insulator boot.
4. Reattach the boots to the plugs.
