Service Engine Soon Light On Intermittently and DTC P1441 Stored
(Reprogram the PCM)

Models:
2002 Chevrolet Cavalier
2002 Pontiac Sunfire
with 2.2L Engine (VIN 4 - RPO LN2)

Condition

Some customers may comment that the SES (Service Engine Soon) comes on intermittently. Technicians may find DTC (Diagnostic Trouble Code) P1441 stored as a history code.

Correction

Reprogram the PCM (Powertrain Control Module) with a new service calibration.

Calibration Information

Electronic calibration files are NOT available from GMSPO.

Calibrations are available from Techline beginning with the TIS 2000 data release of version 8.5, released August 2002.
