Folding Top Cover Retainer Replacement - Number One Bow

Removal Procedure




1. Position the folding top with the #1 and #5 bow up.
2. Remove the seal compression panel.




3. Use a pair of needle nose pliers to remove the top cover staples from the bow.




4. Use a pair of needle nose pliers to remove the headliner staples from the bow.

Caution: Refer to Safety Glasses Caution in Service Precautions.

5. From the top of the bow, drill out the rivets from the top cover retainer.
6. Remove the top cover retainer.

Installation Procedure

1. Install the top cover retainer to the #1 bow.
2. Using the rivets provided, push the shank of the rivet through the retainer. With an assistant install the rivet into the bow using a large tapered punch, hammer until the rivet is flush.




3. Staple the headliner to the bow.
4. Before stapling the top cover to the #1 bow, refer to Folding Top Cover Tension Adjustment - Front.
5. Return the folding top to the original position.
