Steering Shaft, Lower Bearing & Jacket - Disassemble

Steering Shaft, Lower Bearing, and Jacket - Disassemble - Off Vehicle (Floor Shift Standard)

Caution: Refer to SIR Caution in Service Precautions.





1. Disable the inflatable restraint steering wheel module.
2. Remove the steering wheel from the column.
3. Remove the steering column from the vehicle.
4. Remove the electronic lock module assembly.
5. Remove the turn signal and multifunction switch assembly.
6. Inspect the steering column assembly for accident damage.
7. Remove the adapter and bearing assembly (1) from the steering shaft assembly.





8. Remove the steering shaft assembly (1) from the steering column support assembly (2) and the steering column jacket assembly (3).





9. Remove the 4 TORX (R) head screws (1) from the steering column support assembly (2).
10. Discard the 4 TORX (R) head screws (1).
11. Remove the steering column support assembly (2) from the steering column jacket assembly (3).
