If the clutch is disengaged and the vehicle lurches or shudders, the engine mounts may be loose or damaged. If this condition still exists, remove the transmission and inspect the pressure plate for being burned, or for smeared resin from the clutch disc, and also for oil on the pressure plate. Inspect for worn or damaged release bearing and inspect the splines an the transmission main drive gear.
