^ The pinion bearings
^ The pinion and the differential gears
^ The thrust washers
^ The pinion bearing cups
2. Install the left differential carrier case into the J 36598 (1) and the J 36598-6 (8.25 inch axle) or the J 36598. Tighten the attaching bolts securely.
3. Install the J 36598-3 (8.25 inch axle) (2) or the J 36598-4 (9.25 inch axle) (2) onto the forcing screw of the J 36598.
4. Install the outer pinion bearing cup onto the differential carrier case.
5. Install the outer pinion bearing cup by holding the nut of the J 36598 and turning the forcing screw clockwise.
6. Install the inner pinion bearing cup into the differential carrier case opening.
6.1. Remove the J36598 from the forcing screw.
6.2. Place the J 36598-3 (8.25 inch axle) or the J 36598-4 (9.25 inch axle) in the inner pinion bearing cup.
6.3. Extend the forcing screw through the inner pinion bearing cup bore.
6.4. Install the J 36598-3 onto the forcing screw.
6.5. Rotate the forcing screw until the J 36598-3 is snug against the inner pinion bearing cup.
6.6. Rotate the J 36598-3 several times in order to ensure the inner pinion bearing cup is not cocked in the bore.
