EGR Tube: Service and Repair

EXHAUST GAS RECIRCULATION (EGR) PIPE REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE

1. Remove the exhaust gas recirculation (EGR) pipe bolt and carefully pull the pipe assembly back.
2. Remove the EGR pipe assembly nut from the exhaust manifold.
3. Remove the EGR pipe.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE

1. Install the EGR pipe to the exhaust manifold.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten
Tighten the EGR pipe nut to 25 N.m (18 lb ft).

2. Install the EGR pipe to the EGR valve.
3. Install the EGR pipe bolt.

Tighten
Tighten the bolt to 30 N.m (22 lb ft).
