Catalytic Converter Heat Shield Replacement

Removal Procedure
1. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer to Vehicle Lifting.

Notice: Refer to Catalytic Converter Movement Notice in Service Precautions.

2. Support the exhaust system.
3. Remove the catalytic converter.





4. Remove the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) wiring harness (3) from the catalytic converter heat shield (4)
5. Remove the catalytic converter heat shield rivets.





6. Remove the catalytic converter heat shield.

Installation Procedure





1. Install the catalytic converter heat shield.
2. Install the converter heat shield rivets.





3. Install the Heated Oxygen Sensor (HO2S) wiring harness (3) to the catalytic converter heat shield (4).
4. Install the catalytic converter.
5. Remove the support from the exhaust system.
6. Lower the vehicle.
7. Inspect the exhaust system for leaks.
