CIGAR LIGHTER HOUSING REPLACEMENTTOOLS REQUIRED
J 42059 Cigar Lighter Socket Remover
REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Remove the cigar lighter fuse.
2. Remove the cigar lighter element (2).
3. Remove the cigar lighter housing (4) by placing one side of the "T" portion of the tool (3) J 42059 into the tab opening inside the lighter housing (4). Angle the other side of the tool (3) into the other tab opening inside the lighter housing (4).
Remove the lighter housing (4) by pulling the tool rearward from the IP trim plate (1).
4. Remove the tool from the lighter housing (4).
5. Disconnect the electrical connector from the lighter housing (4).
6. Remove the lighter retainer (5) using your index finger and pulling out.
INSTALLATION PROCEDURE
1. Position the lighter retainer (4) with the key to the slot into the IP accessory trim plate (1).
2. Install the lighter retainer (4) pressing into place until fully seated.
3. Connect the electrical connector to lighter housing (3).
4. Align the lighter housing (3) to the splines on the lighter retainer (4) and press into place until fully seated.
5. Install the lighter fuse.
6. Install the lighter element (2).
7. Inspect the lighter for proper operation.
