Seat Replacement - Split Bench

Removal Procedure




1. Disable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3 in Restraint Systems.
2. Move the seat back and disconnect the seat air bag electrical connector, located under the seat, yellow in color.
3. Remove the front seat adjuster track covers.
4. Position the front seat forward to between the mid-forward position and the full forward position. Raise the seat to the full-up position.
5. Remove the bolts which secure the front seat adjuster to the floor pan.
6. Move the seat to a center position over the adjuster.
7. Remove the harness between the electrical connector and the power motor.




8. Remove the seat belt nut from the door side of the seat.
9. Remove the head restraint.
10. Tip the seat forward to remove the door from the front hook attachments.
11. Remove the front seat from the vehicle.

Installation Procedure




1. Position the front seat into the vehicle.
2. Tip the front seat forward to engage the front hook attachments.
3. Connect the front seat electrical connectors.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

4. Install the bolts that secure the front seat adjuster to the floor pan.

Tighten the bolts to 42 N.m (31 lb ft).

5. Reposition the front seat to the full back position.
6. Install the front seat track adjuster covers.




7. Install the seat belt nut to the seat stud.

Tighten the nut to 42 N.m (31 lb ft).

8. Install the head restraint.
9. Enable the SIR system. Refer to SIR Disabling and Enabling Zone 3 in Restraint Systems.
10. Position the seat to the original position.
