BATTERY POSITIVE CABLE REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE
1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.

CAUTION: Refer Battery Disconnect Caution in Service Precautions.

2. Disconnect the positive battery cable from the battery.




3. Remove the bolt retaining the positive battery cable to the underhood fuse block.




4. Remove the nut retaining the positive battery cable to the generator.
5. Raise and support the vehicle. Refer Vehicle Lifting.




6. Remove the nut retaining the positive battery cable to the starter.
7. Remove the positive battery cable harness bolt from the engine.
8. Remove the left engine mount.
9. Remove the positive battery cable from the engine mount.
10. Remove the positive battery cable.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the positive battery cable to the vehicle.
2. Route the positive battery cable through the hole in the engine mount.
3. Install the left engine mount.
4. Install the positive battery cable harness bolt to the engine.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Notice in Service Precautions.

Tighten
Tighten the positive battery cable harness bolt to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

5. Install the nut retaining the positive battery cable to the starter.

Tighten
Tighten the positive battery cable nut to 9 N.m (80 lb in).

6. Lower the vehicle.




7. Install the nut retaining the positive battery cable to the generator.

Tighten
Tighten the positive battery cable nut to 17 N.m (13 lb ft).




8. Install the nut retaining the positive battery cable to the underhood fuse block.

Tighten
Tighten the positive battery cable nut to 10 N.m (89 lb in).

9. Connect the positive battery cable to the battery.

Tighten
Tighten the positive battery terminal bolt to 15 N.m (11 lb ft).

10. Connect the negative battery cable to the battery.
