Tie Bar Replacement - Upper

Removal Procedure





1. Open the hood.
2. Remove the engine splash shield. Refer to Splash Shield Replacement - Engine (Service and Repair) .
3. Remove the air cleaner. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls - 4.8L, 5.3L, and 6.1L.
4. Remove the hood latch. Refer to Hood Latch Replacement (Service and Repair) .
5. Remove the tie bar fasteners.




6. Remove the tie bar from the vehicle.



Installation Procedure





1. Install the tie bar into the vehicle.





Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

2. Install the tie bar fasteners.

Tighten the tie bar fasteners to 10 N.m (88 lb in).

3. Install the hood latch. Refer to Hood Latch Replacement (Service and Repair) .
4. Install the air cleaner. Refer to Air Cleaner Assembly Replacement in Engine Controls - 4.8L, 5.3L, and 6.1L.
5. Install the engine splash shield. Refer to Splash Shield Replacement - Engine (Service and Repair) .
6. Close the hood.
