Convertible Top Control Module: Service and Repair

FOLDING TOP CONTROL MODULE REPLACEMENT

REMOVAL PROCEDURE




1. Cycle the folding top open.
2. Stop the cycle before the folding top stowage compartment lid starts to close.
3. Place a protective covering on the rear upper garnish molding.




4. Remove the body rear compartment lid fasteners.




5. Unlatch the body rear compartment lid latches.




6. Remove the body rear compartment lid from the vehicle.
7. Disconnect the vehicle battery.




8. Release the control module clips.




9. Disconnect the electrical connectors.




10. Remove the control module from the vehicle.

INSTALLATION PROCEDURE




1. Install the folding top control module into the vehicle.




2. Connect the electrical connectors to the control module.




3. Push down firmly on the control module to seat the folding top control module clip into the body rear compartment.




4. Install the body rear compartment lid.




5. Install the body rear compartment lid fasteners.

NOTE: Refer to Fastener Note in Service Precautions.

Tighten
Tighten the body rear compartment lid fasteners to 2 N.m (18 lb in).




6. Latch the body rear compartment lid latches.
7. Remove the protective coverings from the vehicle.
8. Connect the battery.
9. Perform the window cycle learn procedure. Refer to Reinitialization of the Power Window in Doors.

IMPORTANT: The window cycle learn procedure must be performed or the folding top will not operate correctly.

10. Connect the Tech-2 and reset any diagnostic codes that may be present.
11. Cycle the folding top under power through one complete cycle in both directions.
12. Inspect the folding top for proper operation.
