Latch Replacement - Endgate

Removal Procedure

1. Open the rear compartment lid.
2. Lower the endgate.
3. Remove the rear compartment endgate liner. Refer to Rear Compartment Endgate Liner Replacement (Rear Compartment Endgate Liner Replacement) .
4. Remove the endgate access panel. Refer to Rear Compartment Endgate Access Panel Replacement (Rear Compartment Endgate Access Panel Replacement) .




5. Remove the endgate latch fasteners.
6. Remove the endgate latch from the vehicle.
7. Remove the latch release rod from the latch.



Installation Procedure

1. Install the latch release rod to the latch.




2. Install the endgate latch into the endgate.

Notice: Refer to Fastener Notice in Cautions and Notices.

3. Install the endgate latch fasteners.

Tighten the fasteners to 10 N.m (88 lb in).

4. Install the rear compartment endgate access panel. Refer to Rear Compartment Endgate Access Panel Replacement (Rear Compartment Endgate Access Panel Replacement) .
5. Install the rear compartment endgate liner. Refer to Rear Compartment Endgate Liner Replacement (Rear Compartment Endgate Liner Replacement) .
6. Close the endgate.
7. Close the rear compartment lid.
